The lips of the vagina are reshaped during labiaplasty. The excess tissue is removed using a knife or laser, and the remaining flaps are sewn back together using very thin sutures while considering aesthetic value.

Although it can be done under general anaesthesia, it is typically done under local anaesthesia.
